Limits count distinct metrics and actions — showing the same one in several widgets still counts once.

What these limits mean

Active dashboards
A screen full of widgets that you design once and can open on any device. You can build as many as you like on every tier — the limit is how many can be open at the same time. Every screen showing a dashboard counts as one: a window on your PC, a Raspberry Pi panel, a phone — two screens showing the same dashboard are two.
Dashboard update rate
How often the values on a dashboard refresh. Real-time means as fast as the sensor reports.
Metrics per dashboard
A metric is a single live value shown on a dashboard — CPU temperature, GPU load, free disk space, a weather reading, etc. The limit counts distinct metrics: showing the same one in several widgets still counts once.
Actions per dashboard
An action makes a dashboard interactive — tap it to launch an app, control media playback or run a task. Actions come from plugins and can be attached to any widget. As with metrics, the limit counts distinct actions: using the same one in several widgets still counts once.
Metric history export
Paid tiers add persistent history: once enabled, MoBro records in the background for the period on the card — including metrics no dashboard displays, and while no dashboard is open — and lets you export it as a file. That also makes it possible to look back at the minutes before a crash.

Paid tiers are handled through Patreon: pledge the matching tier there, link your Patreon account in MoBro once, and the benefits unlock automatically.
Prices are per month in EUR — VAT may be added by Patreon depending on your country. Annual pledges are charged once a year at ten months' price: the same benefits, two months free.

Frequently asked questions

Is MoBro really free?

Yes. The free tier is not a trial — it never expires, needs no account and already covers a full dashboard with 25 metrics. Paid tiers simply raise the limits and add extras.

Do I need an account for the free tier?

No. You need no account of any kind — not a Patreon one, not a MoBro one. The free tier runs entirely locally without signing up. An account is only needed to link a paid Patreon tier.

Is there an annual option?

Yes. Pledge annually on Patreon and you are charged once a year at ten months’ price — two months free, for the same benefits. The cards above show what that works out at per month; switch the toggle to Annual to compare.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Pledges are cancelled directly on Patreon and there is never a cancellation fee. A monthly pledge has no minimum term at all; an annual one covers the year you paid for and then simply stops renewing.

What happens to my dashboards if I stop supporting?

Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. You keep every dashboard you built; they just fall back to the free tier limits, so a dashboard displays the first 25 metrics and any widgets beyond that stop showing values. The dashboard stays usable, and everything comes back exactly as it was if you pledge again.

Can I switch tiers later?

Anytime. Change your pledge on Patreon and MoBro picks up the new tier automatically — upgrades and downgrades both take effect without reinstalling anything.

What if a marketplace layout needs more metrics than my tier allows?

You can still install it and open it. The dashboard displays as many metrics as your tier allows and any widgets beyond that stop showing values, so the layout stays usable and fills in completely if you move up a tier later.

How many screens can show a dashboard at once?

As many as your tier allows active dashboards — one on the free tier, unlimited on Mega Bro. Every screen counts as one: a window on your PC, a Raspberry Pi panel, a phone or tablet. Two screens showing the same dashboard count as two. You can build and keep as many dashboards as you like on any tier; the limit is only how many are open at the same time.

Do charts work on the free tier, and what does metric history add?

Chart widgets plot on every tier, but their data starts when the dashboard is opened and is lost when it closes. Paid tiers add persistent metric history: once enabled, MoBro records in the background for the period your tier allows — including metrics that no dashboard displays, and while no dashboard is open at all — and lets you export the result as a file. This way you can also look back at what your temperatures or other metrics were doing right in the minutes before a crash.

Why is it handled through Patreon?

We're a small team and Patreon lets us keep the billing, payment methods and taxes out of the app. Pledge a tier on Patreon, link your account in MoBro once, and your benefits unlock automatically. Linking only unlocks your tier — MoBro stays local-first either way, and your sensor data never touches our servers.

What counts as a metric?

A metric is a single live value shown on a dashboard — CPU temperature, GPU load, free disk space, network throughput, a weather reading. What counts towards the limit is distinct metrics, not widgets: if you show your CPU temperature as a gauge, in a chart and as plain text, that is still one metric.

What counts as an action?

An action makes a dashboard interactive: tapping it triggers something on your PC — launch an app, control media playback, run a task. Actions come from plugins, so the marketplace keeps adding more, and you can attach one to any widget or use a dedicated button from the Actions widget pack. Like metrics, the limit counts the distinct actions configured on a dashboard.

Still just want the free version?

That is the point. Download MoBro, build a dashboard, and decide about a tier later.
